These Camps are set in the beautiful city of Santiago in North West Spain. An old pilgrim city, it's dominated by the Dome, a huge cathedral in the center of the city. Pilgrims walk, cycle, and ride horses, to get to the Dome from all over Europe. Saint James' bones are reputed to be buried in the Dome, hence the pilgrimages. The old city is beautiful, with narrow cobbled streets and incredible architecture.
An hour of conversational Spanish is taught each day Monday through Thursday. A 1/2 day is taken for a beach visit where we are treated to Spanish cuisine in a beach café.
Accommodation is in a family run hotel just a 5 minute walk from the Club. The Club has indoor and out door swimming pools, paddle tennis, indoor and out door tennis courts, a fitness center, basketball court, and restaurant.
Again the Spanish Junior Open is being played at the Club. Those already on the Camp will be entered into the Tournament, or juniors can enter independently.
The Squash Club at Santiago is owned by the Cornes family. Iago grew up and learned to play squash primarily at this club. He has represented Spain as a Junior and an Adult, playing in the World Championships at both levels. Iago moved to the USA in early 2006 and now coaches at the Berwyn Club just outside of Philadelphia.
Iago has won many Junior and Adult tournaments in Spain, and throughout Europe.
